One of the healthiest recipes I make is my salmon patties. Now here’s a how-to video that shows just how easy it is to make a meal that benefits your heart, brain, eyes, joints, even your skin and hair, not to mention the cancer protection provided by salmon.
And canned salmon makes this a healthy dinner you can make any time without a trip to the fish market. The patties come together very quickly with just a few ingredients so the whole process, start-to-finish, takes less than 15 minutes.
Let’s talk about what to serve with these delicious fish cakes. Here are some things I have served with my salmon patties:
– Steamed chunks of sweet potato
– My oven-roasted sweet potato fries
– My Greek lemon potatoes
– Chopped salad
– My rice with kale
– My roasted vegetables
– Rice and steamed broccoli
– My roasted Brussels sprouts & potatoes
– My spaghetti with chard (my favorite!)
One of my visitors even made the patties into burgers so now you have lots of ways to try this easy recipe that’s bursting with health benefits. Click here for the recipe. – Jenny Jones
Is the 7.5 ounce can listed in the recipe correct? I only see 14.75 oz cans of salmon. If that is correct, then I should use only half a can, not a full can? Please advise as I plan to make it tonight. Thanks!
What I do is just double the recipe and freeze left over cooked patties individually. Then when I don’t have time to cook, I just take out what I need from the freezer.
Excellent idea! I will do that.
Just found your site, can’t wait to try your recipes.
Jenny I’m hooked on your You Tube channel. Do you have some kind of a cucumber sauce for the salmon patties…or as a last resort a catsup based sauce? Thank you.
Hola Ms. Jenny,
Great recipe!
Id luv to use fresh salmon.
?can I grind it ???
Gosh! I never heard of this step?
Or, Do l need to steam it? For how long ?
Please have patience with me.
I can’t open fish cans. Or any can due to arthritis in my hands.
Thanks for any advice.
Mariana.

I have learned so much from you, I have tried many of your recipes, loving them all….first was Spaghetti in 1 pot, then skillet pizza, Beef Stew, salmon patties , 1bowl cakes, have made all these many times, makes us not want to go out to eat. We are seniors and have just learned to cook with your recipes, makes everything taste. So (Good.) like knowing to make them again.
Husband and I have many more to try.
Thank you Jenny,
I love the idea of serving it with roasted vegetables or sweet fries.
I have found your recipes to be the most enjoyable of all “the rest”. Just keep up the good work and ignore those that find fault.
Would enjoy seeing what you do with Hannovers, Turnips, Parsnips, Kohlrabi, Cauliflower, feld salat (Corn salad), and finally, how do you make a good fish soup (similar to the French and German methods). Thank you.
do you have a recipe for whipped cream frosting? I use to have one where you cooked flour and milk together first to thicken..then after that was cooled you added butter and something..then beat it till it turned into whip cream…without using any heavy cream…I lost my exact recipe..do have something like this ?? Thank you so much
Sorry, I don’t.
Could this be the frosting recipe you are looking for?

Hi Jenny,
I love your youtube channel! Hope you come back wirh a new recipe soon! Miss your videos!
Xoxo
Loved your salmon patties. I had peas, and a salad.
My mother used to make a cream sauce with peas to pour over the salmon patties.
My mother did too! Do you know how to make it?
When are you going to do your next video? I’ve been checking every day for a new recipe on Youtube.. I miss you!
I don’t make a lot of videos because this is my hobby but I plan to do one next week. If you subscribe you will get a notification for every new recipe and new video.
What is a serving of the salmon patties, one patty or two ? Thanks!
Depending on the sides, it’s usually one or one & a half around here. If one is not enough for your plate, the next time you make them, you can make the recipe into three patties instead of four.
Where is the recipe for Greek Lemon Potato’s you mention in your blog about the Salmon Patties. ?
Love your Cinnamon Tunnel Bread.
Keep up the great food and humor.
It’s in the “Sides” category. https://www.jennycancook.com/recipes/greek-lemon-potatoes/ (you can also use the Recipe Search box – just type in “potatoes”)
