How To Toast Nuts

Place raw nuts (walnuts, pecans, or almonds) on an ungreased baking sheet and bake in a preheated 350 degree F oven for 8 to 10 minutes, stirring a couple of times. Cool completely before using. Toasting greatly enhances the flavor of nuts. Always toast nuts before chopping.

Since I’m alone, I stopped serious cooking and baking years ago but happened upon your video yesterday and was inspired by your recipes, your joy of cooking and your very pleasing personality I’m starting with snowball cookies and the no knead bread then intend to adventure my way through your recipes going forward.

Question: Just realized the nuts I purchased indicate they are already roasted. Will it enhance the flavor further if I roast them again or just leave them as is? Also cookies are to be eaten for two days from now when they will first accompany me on a one hour drive. What is the best way to store then until Sunday night and also the best way to pack. I’m guessing they should be flat in single rows and then maybe powdered again when I reach my destination.

    Thank you,

    Rosie

Sorry, I was too late to help with this. I hope it all turned out well.
