Easy Beef Stew

When you see how easy it is to make my beef stew, it might become a regular Sunday thing in your house. In this video I show the simple steps to make a delicious healthy beef stew with meat that falls apart with a touch and potatoes full of  flavor.

I use the leanest meat possible and brown the heck out of it. That’s important, so making old-fashioned beef stew is not for the impatient but it’s oh so worth doing it right. My recipe never fails and it’s proof that you don’t need meat with a lot of marbling to make tender, delicious stew. I just use packaged stew meat, which is cheaper, I cut off any fat I can see, and it comes out perfect every time.

This easy beef stew is one of my most popular recipes – try it once and you’ll see why. Click here for the recipe. – Jenny Jones

I love this recipe! But I find the 1st time I saw it, it said corn starch not flour at the end as a thickener. Why the change?

Hi Jenny, A friend suggested I check out your recipes. In particular, I was interested in your beef stew, as I am making stew this week – a comfort food to get us through our harsh Canadian winters. My Mother, and I also, always would dredge the meat first, and I noticed you skip this step. Also, we always put in the celery and carrots in earlier, as we don’t like our veggies too crisp in a stew. But YOUR stew looked amazing! Maybe I will here back from you? Thank you, Patricia K.

YEAH Beef that’s what’s for dinner. I raise beef cattle in Texas. Lean cuts so good. Thanks for posting Jenny.

I need to be careful adding veggies and don’t over mix with meat, because yeah the meat is way so tender. When adding the veggies I noticed the meat being so tender as I stirred, so I had to carefully cover veggies. That’s what your video has shown me where I need practice more at doing, so thank you for the video of this great recipe. It turned out great and was so delicious…Btw the veggies cooked in the right amount of time for me as the recipe called for. I had no problem with veggies being raw. Just so you know…
